RoomStack Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 15, 2026
RoomStack ("the App," "we," "us") is a home inventory app. This policy explains — plainly, because there isn't much to explain — what happens to your data when you use it.
THE SHORT VERSION
RoomStack doesn't collect anything. There are no user accounts, no servers, no analytics that read your content, and no third parties with access to what you store. Everything you create lives on your device, and — only if you choose to turn it on — in your own personal iCloud.
WHAT YOU PUT INTO ROOMSTACK
When you use the App, you may create properties and rooms you name yourself, item photos you take or choose, item details you enter, and backup files, PDF reports, and CSV exports you generate. We refer to all of this as "Your Content." Your Content belongs to you. We never see it, access it, or have any way to retrieve it — RoomStack has no backend to send it to.
WHERE YOUR CONTENT IS STORED
- On your device. By default, everything is stored locally in RoomStack's private app storage, inaccessible to other apps.
- In your personal iCloud, if you choose to enable it. Settings → "iCloud backup & sync" copies Your Content to your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit private database. This copy is associated with your Apple ID, encrypted in transit and at rest per Apple's standard iCloud protections, and accessible only to you when signed in.
- In files you create and share. Exported backup files, PDF reports, and CSV files are generated on your device and go wherever you choose to send them.
PERMISSIONS WE ASK FOR, AND WHY
- Camera. Used only when you tap "Take Photo" to photograph an item. Photos are saved into RoomStack's private storage on your device — not into your general Photos library, and not uploaded anywhere by us.
- Photo library. When you choose "Choose from Library," RoomStack uses Apple's built-in photo picker, which only ever shares the specific photos you select. RoomStack is never granted general access to your photo library.
- Face ID / Touch ID. Used only if you turn on the optional app lock in Settings → Security. Your biometric data belongs to iOS and never leaves the device's Secure Enclave — RoomStack never sees it, and only ever receives a yes-or-no answer from the system about whether the unlock succeeded.
PURCHASES
RoomStack Pro is an optional, one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive, see, or store your payment details.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
RoomStack is not directed at children and is not designed to collect information from anyone, of any age.
THIRD PARTIES
RoomStack does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. The only third party involved is Apple, through iCloud (if enabled) and the App Store.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and the copy in the App under Settings → Privacy Policy.
